Google AdSense still pays, and people do make money. However, the golden era of easy earnings is long gone. The main challenges today are: 

• Lower RPMs (Revenue per 1,000 Impressions) – Ad rates aren’t what they used to be. 
• More Competition – More websites, more content, and more alternatives to Google’s ad network. 
• Google’s AI-Generated Results – Search engine traffic is declining for blogs because Google is showing direct answers via AI, cutting out the need to click on a website.

 

What’s Hurting AdSense Earnings?

• Ad Blockers Are Everywhere – Many users block ads entirely, reducing impressions and earnings. 
• Google’s AI Overview – More users get answers directly in search, meaning fewer clicks to websites. 
• Mobile Traffic Pays Less – Most traffic comes from mobile, but mobile ads earn far less than desktop ads.

Best Niche For Google Adsense? Question Unanswered

I just finished crawling (literally) the web for input on the best niche for Google Adsense.

I end up at forums and blog posts about the topic (funny though, since I use Google Search). All were mentioning high paying keywords for that, high paid keywords for this and so on.

Yes, creating a website with focus on high paying keywords is a smart way to go. It's well thought by those who use SBI, for example.

And people who build niche sites to earn from Adsense were following the same procedure.

I used to see recommendation for using software like Micro Niche Finder, for instance, to based a website on.

Then Google starts its scraping exercise...

For the past few years, these procedures seem to bring more worries than joy. I see friends with sites being banned all over the lot.

Reason?

Social Traffic Is Not Good For Adsense

That's a bitter pill to swallow but the fact of the matter is: social media traffic is not good (at all) for Google Adsense.

I just opened an e mail sent by a friend. He said, "People always ask me how to profit from social media traffic. My answer is simple: create an opt-in list!"

See?

The truth still prevail that GA is best for SEO traffic - traffic who arrive through search engines looking for something relevant.

Social media traffic are best left to list-building and direct response offer.

Consider another friend who send me a screen shot of one of her website's traffic.

It shows tremendous growth. Traffic grows by leap and bound.

And she got this to say, "Why depend on Google when you can get so much more traffic from this X media (a social media)?"

And she showed her income growth as well...

But the point is, she was not using Google Adsense. Not for that kind of market, product and offer.

I've said enough.

PS. Getting a spike in traffic is exciting, but it doesn't always mean higher earnings. Increased Traffic But Lesser Respond

I'm still pouring my thought on the responsiveness issue...

One of my sites shows awesome increase in traffic and pageviews.

But the thing is, there's evidence of lack of respond and action on that site.

People are not clicking the ads despite some of them spent considerable amount of hours there.

Why?

I've poured my thought on this issue somewhere among my posts herein.

What I can say, with high amount of confidence is I have untargeted traffic.

They come, they see and they leave without exerting any action. It could probably due to the nature of content, and like I said, "Content is just content. It can't decide for the other part (readers)."

If readers decided that there's no action to take, then nothing will ever happen.

If they made a decision, then something could happen.

Whether that something is beneficial to me or not, that's the second question. The priority is the action that the reader takes.

There's a formula, a proven formula, that a marketer recommend when approaching a market.

But how can I implement such formula to that particular market and website?

How do I respond to the formula?

That's the question, isn't it?

Responsive websites or intuitive websites?

It's a funny thing when Google used the term responsive websites in its recent Google Adsense newsletter.

I said funny because I've yet to come across a website that can counter-click me when I clicked the back button or any button for that matter.

Or perhaps with the common mobile tools of today, I've yet to come across a website that can counter-swipe me whenever I swipe for different action.

That's why I said funny...

Perhaps the word intuitive is better.

And in my personal opinion, I see that Google probably is at the same intuitive level in matching ads to content.

Websites are never responsive. They're not human. They are created by human but they're not the creators.

They're just creations...

Blogger Adsense Empire: How You Can Create One

After getting the handle on Blogger and Adsense, probably you're wondering, "Where do I go from here?" And the answer is: You could go either way - up or out. Let me explain...

If you choose to go out (that's the easiest route and since it's short, I'll explain this first), it simply means you just leave your blog as it is. Maybe you just add content to it every now and then but that's all you do.

The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.
